Boulder’s love of coffee shops is only seconded by peoples’ love of drinking too much caffeine at them; hence the “wheeeeeeee!” This could be a classic situation for the chicken-or-the-egg question: which came first? Boulder’s coffee shops or the awesome entrepreneurs, students, musicians, and artists who consistently fill them? Although I’m sure it’s been more of a mutual partnership/growth of sorts, Boulder currently has the lock-down on the coffee scene.
A local favorite, The Cup is typically found packed to the brim. With an always happy and somewhat noisy – in a good way – vibe, you know you’ll enjoy your coffee and, assuming you brought headphones, good productivity. Also, the Boulder Open Coffee Club meets there fortnightly(I didn’t even know this word existed).
Amante will quickly become your new favorite euro-style espresso shop. Patrons can be found there on most days rooting for their choice football (soccer?) team. Amante is also great for a quick drink after work with a few Italian beers and wines on the menu.
Need to power through some work? Head to Trident to meet the headphone-mob. Turn up the tunes and get going! Trident is great for its teas and coffees as well as the quick distraction (if necessary) of the adjoining eclectic bookstore.
Some other favorites are Saxy’s, the Dushanbe Tea House and Tee and Cakes. See here for a full list.
