Here’s a great list of some awesome downtown Boulder restaurants…

Jax is home to the best seafood menu in Boulder! Packed into a small space for over 14 years, this restaurant is home to the winner of TV’s Top Chef, Hosea Rosenberg. They offer a fantastic happy hour from 4-6pm and have a Raw Bar featuring fresh oysters, clams, and Alaskan King Crab all flown in daily.

West End Tavern is the place to go if you’re in the mood for breathtaking views of the Boulder Flatirons. The Tavern is home to delicious American food, specializing in some of Boulder’s best burgers and steaks as well as a selection of over 50 bourbons. Named ‘Best Bar’ by 5280 Magazine, this is definitely a place to unwind and take in the natural beauty of Colorado.

Tahona can always please with a well made margarita or, for the adventurous, an exotic tequila served straight. Whenever the weather’s nice, they’ve got the front opened up to the air making for a relaxing social atmosphere. Overall great place to spend all or part of an evening downtown.

Centro serves up Latin soul food and amazing hand crafted cocktail in a funky, young casual environment. If the weather’s nice, you have to check out the patio, where you’ll be able to soak up the beautiful Boulder sunshine. They have a great happy hour Tuesday-Thursday 4pm-5:30 and Friday-Sunday 3pm-5:30. I’d recommend trying one of their many comidas (tacos) and a Caipirinha or a La Casa Marg.

The Kitchen has a seasonally evolving menu, with ingredients provided largely from local farms and ranches. They’ve won the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ from Wine Spectator 2009 and won the ‘Best Wine List 301’ and ‘Best Beer List Award of Distinction’ both from the Crystal Beverage Awards in 2008. Rustic food is prepared in a wood fire oven, and the simple interior provides a unique canvas for the rest of the meal.

The Mediterranean is a locally owned restaurant, home to amazing Sangria and Tapas (small plates). Take part in their popular happy hour 3-6:30 as you sample foods from all over the Mediterranean region. Enjoy a thin crust Margarita pizza and glance over their extensive wine list as you watch the restaurant fill with patrons.

Dushanbe Tea House is the only restaurant of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. The interior is filled with hand-crafted, carved and painted decorations made by over 40 artisans in several cities in Tajikistan. The friendly staff is incredibly helpful when it comes to navigating their extensive tea menu. Spend the afternoon drinking and exotic tea and noshing on their amazing desserts. Vegan and vegetarian friendly.

Hapa has the coolest sushi menu in Boulder. Offering specialty roll selections like the ‘Multiple Orgasm’ and the ‘Shiso-Honi’ your experience at Hapa will be a tasty adventure. The sleek, urban style is young and hip and the trendy wait staff blends in seamlessly with the environment.
